And down the block, Sarabeth's Central Park South, at 40 Central Park S, sits between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and offers al fresco dining for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. The al fresco option in August is the difference between the reservation being pleasant and the reservation being a small event.
The thesis, restated: five years ago, a full Central Park South Saturday required a subway ride to reach the programming worth the day. This August, the programming came to the corner. That is a change in the character of the address, not a change in the amenities list.
